The purpose Of KCLC is Keres language revitalization. The core Of this effort lies in KCLC'S children. They are the kernels in which Keres is being sown, and which, when ripe, we hope will yield in abundance. Keres is used to teach Children all academic subjects in our two Classrooms.

The Elementary classroom serves children ages 6—12 through dual-language best practices and the Montessori Method.
The Primary classroom serves Children ages through Indigenous-Language Immersion techniques and the Montessori Method.
KCLC also provides an after-school program called Iiwas Playhouse, which extends the Keres-based school day.
kCLC has created two community engagement initiatives—the Outdoor Classroom and the Mentor- Apprentice program, Which use immersion to make Keres available to adult learners.

KCLC uses an Intergenerational Approach, maximizing each generation's Strengths—the Elders' fluency and knowledge and the youngers' enthusiasm and savvy—to foster intergenerational transmission of the Keres language.
As KCLC has grown and developed, our work has launched Other endeavors, helping to broadly pollinate tribal education sovereignty. Our annual Native Language Symposium, begun in 2016 in response to interest in KCLC's approaches, brings together tribes and allies working to advocate for families reclaiming their children's education, Indigenous communities revitalizing their the importance of early childhood, and the need for anti-biased and anti-racist education.
KCLC is blessed by our partners and the Funding that make Our work possible, showering us with support and resources to grow and develop and sustain Keres.

KCLC's need for Keres•speaking trained Montessori teachers led to the creation of the Indigenous Montessori Institute OMI), Montessori training in the context of the Philosophy of Indigenous Education. KCLC also provides leadership for the fledgling Indigenous Montessori Network (IMN), an association of tribes and schools seeking education that honors the Child, the language, the culture, and Indigenous Knowledge Systems.
KCLC's foundation rests on Our relationship with Pueblo de Cochiti Tribal Council, which gives us permission to use the tribe's Keres language in our work. Our roots are in the Keres Language and Culture (Keres Indigenous Knowledge Systems). We are nourished and nurtured by the KCLC Board Of Directors and tribal Elders.
